Graduation!

Tomorrow my oldest son Graduates from High School. *Gasp* is that possible?
We're so proud of him and can't wait to see what the future holds for him.

Love this self portrait he did of himself in Art Class! I can't wait to use it
for a layout. I also took a photograph of him leaving for his last day of school
and plan on using it in a layout combined with a photograph I took on his first
day of school. That is my idea of the day. Combine photographs that show history.

Ideas Come From Everywhere!

I knew when I worked on Lori's Circle Journal that I wanted to do my page about Hot Chocolate and Amaretto. I wanted to come up with something clever and while waiting for my turn at the Dentist I found it in a VERY old magazine. The hand and the tea cup idea come straight from an ad for a coffee creamer !

Isn't it amazing how the fish in the tank look like patterned paper? My scrapping idea of the day is to actually add things to the photograph itself. In this case the handwritten and cut title and the little banner and felt arrows. I love how this turned out and will definately be adding more things on top of photographs!

My Apologies

I am so sorry that I have been such a horrible blogger lately. When I started this I swore I wouldn't be one of the many people who begin a blog and don't keep up with it. Truth is.. that is exactly what I have become. I will spare you my excuses. If you are nice enough to read my blog..then please come back.. I have lots of things to post!

SCORE!

I have a new obsession. Steel case office equipment! Found at garage sales and thrift stores- these work wonders for scrapping supplies. I have file boxes, document boxes and index card boxes. My latest find for the huge price of $1.00 was a very greasy invoice holder from an auto garage. Covered in grease (a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser took that off in seconds) each slot works perfectly for 12x12 paper!



These metal gems are easily transformed to work with the decor in any scrapping room.
A little spray paint and Viola! A lot cost, stylish storage solution.

Here's my find hard at work holding completed layouts waiting to be put into scrapbooks!

Spinning Rack

It took a little figuring out-but, I did it! I made a spinning rack that can sit on my desk and I see and reach all of my scrapping goodies. I haven't added up the cost of all the supplies I used yet- but, I am pretty sure the total cost is under $20.00! Storage

When it comes to storage for my scrapping supplies, I try to think outside of the box. It seems to me that once a storage item is labeled by the manufacturer as being for Scrapbooking the price tag more than doubles.

My solution for tiny things, such as brads,eyelets, tiles, beads and glitters is to store them in test tubes. It's working GREAT for me. All the tubes fit nicely into a rack and I simply have to move the rack to my scrapping table when working on a project.

Test tubes are quite inexpensive. I purchased online 100 test tubes, 2 racks and all the green lids at testtubesonline.com. Total price tag with shipping was under $35.00. Not bad for 100 places to store things!
